Mission
With its specific teacher training course, the Royal Conservatoire aims to train passionate teachers who are open to critically examining their own thinking and behavior, so that they continue to develop in their role as teachers.
Creativity and artistry can only exist where there is room for communication, research and awareness.
A music, drama or dance instructor is an impassioned teacher with a broad cultural and theoretical background as well as professional knowhow that is closely linked to the field of artistic education in Belgium and abroad.
Admission requirements for the teacher training program
To access the special training for teachers in drama or music, you must:
- hold a Bachelor's degree in music or drama.
Holders of a bachelor degree can register simultaneously for special training for teachers and master.
The degree of specific training of teachers can not be issued until after graduation from the master.
30 credits of specific teachers training of music are part of the master's program in music (120 credits).
For specific training of teachers in dance, the access condition is:
- hold a Bachelor's degree in dance or have earned 120 credits from a Bachelor's degree in dance;
Or: pass the entrance exam for Bachelor in Dance, and have an experience of at least 5 years in a recognized company.
