Dutch language proficiency bachelor program

After passing the artistic entrance examination, you also have to meet certain language conditions. As a non-native Dutch speaking student, you have to prove a basic proficiency in spoken and written Dutch. This needs to be evidenced by obtaining a language certificate (CEFR A1 breakthrough) before your official enrolment (before the 1st of November).
Our Academy offers an intensive Dutch language course, organised in collaboration with Linguapolis, Institute for Language and communication, Antwerp. The course costs 230 euro and takes place in September. The last day of the course is reserved for a language proficiency test.
Students who pass the artistic entrance examination in July can subscribe for the first language course, group 1. When group 1 is complete, students will be placed in group 2 or 3.
Students who pass the artistic entrance examination in September can subscribe for the second language course, group 2 and 3.Â
The course takes place on weekdays from 9.30 till 16.30h
group 1: Tuesday August 28th till Monday September 10th (last day is day of exam)
group 2: Tuesday September 11th till Monday September 24th (last day is day of exam)
group 3: Tuesday September 11th till Monday September 24th (last day is day of exam)
How to apply: you will be able to apply after the artistic entrance examination. Please apply as soon as possible, after passing!
- Students who pass the artistic entrance examination in July and who wish to apply for the language course, can download the application form here.
- Students who pass the artistic entrance examination in September and wish to apply for the language course, can dowload the application form here. You have to send it by email to Sabina De Clercq, the latest on Friday September 7 2012Â
You are not obliged to take the language course we offer. There are other options for students to prove they possess the required proficiency level in the Dutch language:
- To undertake a Dutch course and pass certified examinations in their country of origin
- To undertake a Dutch course at Linguapolis (www.linguapolis.be) or at another language institute in Flanders during the summer months or in September.
- Self directed study followed by a compulsory language proficiency test (30 euro) conducted by Linguapolis.
Please note that this option does involve certain risks on your part, as failure to pass the Linguapolis examination results in you not being able to commence your study at the Academy of Antwerp.
For further information about the language criteria, please contact: Mrs. Sabine De Clercq, sabine.declercq@artesis.beÂ
